Under Section 2(1) of the Commission of Inquiry Law, Cap. 29, Laws of Osun State 2002, the Governor of Osun State, Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola established a Truth & Reconciliation Commission. The Commission is to inquire into the causes and incidents of gross human rights violations and public discontent in the state from June 1st, 2003 till date. The purpose for such inquiry is public welfare. The mandate is to facilitate redress, promote reconciliation and prevent future reoccurence.
